We want to extend this invitation
For you to come along
And become part of our church family
Where you feel that you belong
For you are valued by the Lord
And he has a purpose for you,
He's placed within you special gifts,
He longs for you to use
And we, as a church, would love to see
You grow within your gifts,
For then we all can receive a blessing
With what God's blessed you with.

Special Thanks to Pastor John Vidal and Lay Leader John Winger for making this happen.
The Prayer Shawl Ministry at First UMC is really at the heart of who we are as a church. The making of a prayer shawl is a spiritual practice which embodies our thoughts and prayers for the receiver. It is a gift given freely with no strings attached. Made in prayer, the shawls are passed on hand-to-hand and heart-to-heart. With this simple gift the woman of our Prayer Shawl Ministry give comfort to those in need. Anyone facing a serious challenge – loneliness, illness (physical or emotional), financial issues, fertility, etc. Shawl recipients share that they feel comfort knowing that people are praying for them in their time of need.
A Special Thanks to the Women of the First UMC Prayer Shawl Team.
You are truly doing God's work comforting those in need.
Take a look at First UMC out and about in all the communities of the Slate Belt.
